Bringing the state closer to its citizens

Central government is actively decentralising state services to improve access for citizens outside Georgetown and reduce the congestion that accompanies routine government business. Services like the Guyana Revenue Authority and Passport Renewal have already begun operating outside the capital through dedicated hubs managed by the Ministry of Public Service.

Silica City will take this further — hosting a full government services district where residents can handle all permitting, licensing, and official business without leaving the city. The government is also considering housing diplomatic and multilateral offices within the city to generate organic institutional demand and accelerate growth.
