Housing
A housing model unique to Guyana — combining detached single-family homes with high-rise units, made possible by Silica City's highland soil profile and driven by the need for affordable, high-density living.

A new kind of home for a new kind of city
Silica City's housing model is unlike anything currently found in Guyana. Almost all existing housing stock consists of fully detached single-family homes — a pattern shaped by low population density and the challenges of coastal soil types. Silica City changes this entirely.
Built on highland terrain with a more favourable soil profile, the city can support dynamic vertical construction — enabling high-rises alongside traditional detached units. This mix unlocks more units at a lower price per square foot, making homeownership more accessible for young professionals and families.
Construction of the first 100 young professional homes is already underway, with 74 of those units actively under construction along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
